Silver Arch · view in room

Silver Arch

Like Makli, this canvas is held almost entirely in grey. A single dancer stands under a pale arch with her arms out, and the dark carved wall around it is painted in silver and black. Only a scatter of gold and copper tiles breaks the grey, at her bangles, her choli and the hem of her ghagra.
