Cultural Blossoms

Cultural Blossoms gathered the largest group of Bandah Ali's dance canvases shown together in Karachi: forty-three oils, all at 48 by 36 inches, hung edge to edge so that the tiles of one painting seemed to spill into the next.

The canvases ran through every colour of the Thari ghagra, the embroidered cholis, the silver, and the four dances the artist has spent years painting.
